About Me

Thanks for dropping by. I’m a father of four living the quiet life outside of Chicago in the beautiful little town of Duneland Beach, Indiana. (Really — there’s a beach here.) I’m also the President and CEO of Event 360, the nation’s leading event fundraising firm. At our core we help nonprofits use experiences to create a better world. Every year our projects raise about $100 million for charitable causes.

Professionally, my interests include competitive strategy and positioning, fundraising analytics and strategy, modeling and forecasting, social change, and entrepreneurship. I love wise inspirational quotes and have been collecting them for years. There are a number indexed by author and topic here on the site.

Personally, I love my family, enjoy my work, enjoy songwriting and windsurfing, and probably spend too much time on the computer.

I graduated from the University of Rochester and hold an MBA from Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University. I also hold a Certificate in Fundraising Management from the Center of Philanthropy at IUPUI. I’m currently a graduate student in analytics at Northwestern.

I’m active on the board of the ACLU of Illinois and support a number of other great organizations listed on my “recommendations” page. I also serve on the board of the Giving Institute, which publishes Giving USA, the authoritative annual survey of giving in America.

For more information on my professional background, feel free to check out Event 360’s site, follow me on Twitter, or view my LinkedIn profile here. Or shoot, don’t be afraid of Facebook or Google+ either.

Want to drop me a line? I’d love to hear from you.
